Suris completed the construction of the new multipurpose hospital space located on the Bellvitge University Hospital grounds within a period of 8 weeks.
The facility covers an area of 4,873 m² and has four floors, adding to the existing Costa area a total of 48 emergency rooms and 64 inpatient beds.
The design and construction of the new hospital space was carried out following the LEAN methodology, which aims to eliminate non-value-added activities and achieve immediate results in project productivity.
Furthermore, it was built using a pre-industrialized system to ensure construction times and future adaptability.
This hospital was built during the COVID-19 pandemic. CatSalud’s goal is for these facilities to be used as healthcare support for routine activities and to relieve emergency room congestion once the pandemic is over.
This hospital space is designed to provide a rapid response to the COVID-19 situation. It is designed to expand existing hospital infrastructure with maximum performance, occupying the smallest possible area, and offering high flexibility and adaptability for uses. For this reason, the building functions as a complement or extension of the current hospital.
