TUNEL COLL DE ILLA

We have completed the COLL DE LILLA TUNNEL project on the A-27 VALLS MONTBLANC HIGHWAY.

At Suris, we have supplied and implemented the integral installations in this impressive 1,500-metre-long tunnel, consisting of two tubes (one in each direction) and connected by six strategically located safety galleries.

Project Details: Supply and Installation of Integral Tunnel Facilities.

We have been responsible for the provision and implementation of all the necessary facilities to ensure the optimal operation of the tunnel.

Capacity: The tunnel is designed to absorb an impressive 25,000 vehicles per day, making it a crucial infrastructure to facilitate regional mobility.

Installations carried out:

  • Medium Voltage Installations: Two transformation centres have been installed at each tunnel portal, connected to 25kV by means of an inner ring, ensuring efficient energy distribution.
  • Low Voltage Installations: The general distribution boards have an automatic switching system for two generators in the event of an emergency, guaranteeing continuity in the electricity supply.
  • Ventilation Facilities: With a proactive approach to safety, 28 jet fans have been installed for effective ventilation in fire situations, backed up by an overpressure system in the evacuation galleries.
  • Control Panels and SOS Poles: Includes an advanced communication system via a fibre optic ring connected to the control room, ensuring a quick and effective response to any eventuality.
  • Lighting System: The lighting infrastructure ensures exceptional visibility and safe circulation in the tunnel, supported by a beaconing and evacuation system.
  • Signalling Equipment: Variable messaging panels, dynamic speed signs, traffic lights, gauge control and ETD’s have been implemented to maintain efficient traffic control.
  • Centralised Control System: We highlight the full integration of subsystems, such as lighting, ventilation, fire, CCTV, IAD, access, communication and power, through a centralised control system, providing effective monitoring and centralised management.

 

This tunnel not only represents a significant improvement in mobility and traffic efficiency, but has also been designed with a comprehensive focus on safety and advanced control.
